Update regarding future of sBorg
3Dear clients and sBorg fans,
This is Somik, developer and co-owner of sBorg.
Due to some evens, Abhi mentioned that he might shut down sBorg servers in an event sBorg is decoded. I want to clarify that sBorg project will NOT stop due to the actions of a few individuals as that wont be fair to all those who supported us in the last 16 months. We have clients dating back to 1st October 2010 (when sBorg first started) and are still using sBorg regularly and have install tickets in their accounts. One such user is our client no. 55 who have been purchasing hosting account from us ever since. You have trusted and we wont be breaking that trust by suddenly going offline because we could not properly secure our script.
As for our licensing server, I’ll personally be making sure that it does not go down. In an event that we no longer have any paying clients and we cannot maintain the cost of the licensing server, we will move it to a shared hosting like we did for sBorg’s main website and forum. If you would like to help keep sBorg alive, you can do your part to help keep sBorg alive by simply donating, buying install tickets or hosting plans.
I realize that these are hard times. Almost all filehosts are either down or stopping their affiliate services. This gave rise to a lot of new filehosts. Although, as i am sure you all know, most of them will go down within a few months or so (some of them might even scam you), a few of them will remain and become big names in the future. So, once we are sure the filehosts has been around for 4~5 months and have good reputation, we will be adding these new filehosts into our sBorg. We are already working on our first list of filehosts to be added.
Remember that sBorg is here to stay.
If you have any problems with your sBorg, be sure to open a support ticket here: http://support.sborg.us/
Best wishes,
Somik Khan.

What’s up with sBorg?!
4I thought it would be good to mention the recent changes that have taken place in the past few weeks!
First of all, Somik met with an accident and isn’t online most of the time. I’m handling the support/forums for now
Secondly, after the recent changes in the filehosts and their affiliate systems, I’ve come across many people requesting newer upload hosts. Trust me, I’ve been contacted a LOT.
There’s a list of filehosts created by WaReZ which includes all the details related to filehosts and their affiliate systems (if they exist). He’s constantly updating the list and I’ve already started creating uploading plugins
Also, Mediafire seems to have changed their site’s pattern again and you may not be able to download from them till a patch is released. The dreaded uploaded.to “cannot login” issue is already on my list, don’t worry about it. And the “file rename” functionality is being currently checked by me for bug-fixes.
In short, you can expect an update in Mid Feb.
For the newer filehosts, kindly use FTP upload till the plugins are made and released.
Have fun!
Regards,
Abhi aka Halcyon

Free upgrade to sBorg v5.5 for hosted clients
3I’ve recieved several emails asking me this so i am going to post it here.
Upgrade/re-installation is free of charge on sBorg hosting plans. This means if you are hosted by us (sborg.us) you will receive a free upgrade to the latest version when you request it.
If you want us to upgrade/reinstall your sBorg, please note that all your data will be deleted. So please make a backup of all your important data, this includes your logs, forum template, post template, downloaded files, custom files (myfiles), stored account details etc.
After backing up is completed, create a support ticket and we will proceed with upgrade/re-installation.
sBorg v5.5 Beta released!
33
Finally sBorg v5.5 is out!!
Here comes out the version you all have been waiting for. Somik was a bit busy with his newly joined university and I (Abhi) was recently out of my training. We both were mostly busy with out lives and there was pretty less time for us to work on sBorg. We thank one and all of you to keep up with the wait and we hope that this version satisfies your needs.
We’re releasing this version v5.5 as beta because we were not able to test out all the features of it. You can check the changelog for a list of things that were added/removed/updated
Solution to Transmission’s “Unauthorized IP Address”
2Recently I’ve observed that a similar issue has been faced by a lot many transmission users.
Mostly when a fresh copy of transmission is installed on your server, browsing to web GUI of transmission shows the following error:
401: Unauthorized
Unauthorized IP Address.
Either disable the IP address whitelist or add your address to it.
If you're editing settings.json, see the 'rpc-whitelist' and 'rpc-whitelist-enabled' entries.
If you're still using ACLs, use a whitelist instead. See the transmission-daemon manpage for details.
